Cell phone tower company faced wrongful death before

If you have lost a loved one in a dangerous work situation or during an accident, you may want to seek compensation. While it won't bring back the person you lost, the wrongful death lawsuit could result in compensation that will help you cover bills from a funeral, medical bills, or other financial needs. A report from Feb. 8 claims that a number of fatalities have taken place due to collapsing cell towers, and Ohioans may have heard about this one that took place just across the border in West Virginia.

According to the news, two men from Oklahoma and a volunteer firefighter were killed when two cell phone towers owned by the SBA Communications Corp. collapsed in Clarksburg, West Virginia, at the beginning of February. Two other workers, as well as another firefighter, were injured. In May, two wireless climbers were also killed in Mississippi when they were working on a 300-foot tower that was owned by the company. Since September, it has been reported that at least 14 injuries or deaths have happened on communications towers around the country. This extreme number of injuries and deaths is more than the past two years combined, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and it's expected that the growing interest in 4G services and company growth could cause the incidents to continue into the future. According to the story, the OSHA could take six months or more to investigate the latest incident.

Cell towers are located all over the U.S., and it's likely you pass one in Ohio every day. If you or a loved one are hurt or if you lose a loved one due to a cell tower collapse, you may want to speak with an attorney about your options.
