Workplace accident hurts 2 men

If you've been hurt at work in Ohio, then you may have sought workers' compensation. When you have injuries from a workplace accident, you should be taken care of while you recover without having to worry about the injury impacting your income or being impacted by high medical bills. Fortunately, many companies will provide this compensation to you, but if not, you may want to look into your legal options.

Take for instance the people in this case; they fell approximately seven floors when the building they were working on in Massachusetts collapsed from its 12th story to the 5th story. According to the news, the 12th story decking buckled under the weight of a dead load of materials. That resulted in the building collapse that hurt three people with two being seriously injured.

The story reports that one of the people injured is in serious condition. Another is still in the hospital as well, and a third person admitted himself for a hand injury but was later released. The only fortunate part of this accident is that no one was killed. All 120 workers were accounted for following the incident.

OSHA will be investigating this incident, but first, the company has to make sure the area is safe for them to start an investigation. At the moment, they reported that there is no life hazard, but entering the building could put someone's life at risk. So, the workers will have to build up the structure from the ground floor up with cranes and other equipment. Once the area is safe, the workers will be able to clean up the debris left by the collapse. That's when OSHA will be able to move in and investigate the fifth floor and any other areas still accessible that were part of the accident.
