Industrial accident leads to the wrongful death of a man

Ohio is constantly undergoing some form of construction, so it's not ever a surprise to hear about construction accidents taking place. Still, with the right precautions, it's possible to prevent these construction accidents from ever taking place, and that saves lives. In a recent case from Dec. 31, an industrial accident resulted in the death of a 73-year-old man. According to the news, he was working when his dump truck overturned, killing him.

Reports claim that the man was an employee of Reynolds Excavating Inc. in Maryland. The Maryland State Police reported that the truck had overturned into a ravine, and they said the man was the only person involved in the accident. The truck was found partially submerged, and the man's co-workers were able to get the man out of the vehicle and called the emergency medical services to the scene. The man had to be flown to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment, but he was pronounced dead just an hour after the accident. According to reports, the dump truck was empty at the time of the accident.

Now, the Mine Safety and Health Administration, along with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, are working together to assist the police with the investigation of this tragedy. Right now, there is no clear answer as to why the truck would have overturned.

Accidents do happen, but if the fault lies in the equipment you're using or safety techniques not being observed, you may have a case. If you've lost a loved one due to faulty equipment or poor safety standards, it's important that your voice is heard.
