Another worker fatality at new 49ers stadium construction site

No one wants to see someone get hurt at work, and high-risk occupations do run the risk of causing serious injuries more often than some other professions. Construction accidents can lead to injuries that are debilitating or deadly, and in this case, one man was killed. Ohio readers familiar with the San Francisco 49ers may have heard about the new stadium being built. So far, there have been a few problems, and now two people have been killed during the course of the construction.

The news from Oct. 14 states that a 63-year-old man was killed at the site when he was struck by a counterweight in a shaft where he was working. The man had been an elevator mechanic for over 40 years and was a subcontractor for the stadium's general contractor.

Now, a second accident has cost the life of another man who was a subcontractor for the job, according to WDAY News 6. The accident happened at approximately 6:45 a.m. when he was crushed by materials being taken off his truck. According to police, the man was rushed to the hospital but died from his injuries. The 60-year-old man's death spurred an investigation, but workplace safety officials have stated that the site is safe for workers. The stadium's construction is due to resume shortly.

The sudden death of a loved one or a serious injury can cause pain, suffering, and distress. If you or someone you know is suffering a prolonged injury or has lost a loved one in an accident, you may want to seek more information and discuss your options. There may be something you can do to help make the workplace safer for the people left still working on a job or in a workplace, and you may be able to seek compensation for your losses.
